I think this is a good idea that puts us all on a level playing field and allows for Realtors and Builders to develop True Relationships with local Community Banks and Brokers. It is hard to compete for business when mortgage companies are paying desk fees to the Agents and Builders to get the referrals.

Home buyers in Maryland need to get Pre-Approved before they get into a car with a Realtor. Buyers don’t take this personal when an Agent asks you to get Pre-Approved because they do not want to waste time with unqualified Buyers.
There is also a layer of safety because getting Pre-Approved gives a little more information to a referring partner so they can report back to the Agent that you are who you say you are and legit.
