There is nothing more powerful than the feeling you get from helping someone in need without expecting anything in return.
Today’s topic is near and dear to my heart: Acts of kindness and giving. I’ve often done videos about products and programs and putting people into homes where they’ve been turned down elsewhere, and that’s something I love doing.
I’ve been solicited many times for sponsorships and things of that sort, but, somehow, that give-and-take scenario is not as much fun as giving without expecting anything in return. I never felt like I always needed to put my own name on an act of generosity, like helping an elderly person pump their gas.
I don’t even want them to know who I am; I just want them to take the experience and let it fuel their happiness for the rest of the day. That, to me, is a phenomenal experience.
I never felt like I always needed to put my own name on an act of generosity.
When you write a check for a sponsorship, sure, you get a board with your name on it—but when you go out of your way to help someone without being asked, the feeling is overwhelming. Because of that, whenever I get the nudge from somewhere to help someone, I jump out and take care of it.
I once saw a family who had lost their home—I took it as an opportunity to help, so I opened up my wallet and gave them everything I had.
I hope that this will inspire you to try this once or twice in your life.
